Master's Program
The Department of Early Childhood Education, in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Unit (MO.DI.P.) of the Democritus University of Thrace and the relevant university departments, has aligned the Quality Policy of the Undergraduate Program (P.P.S.) and the offered Master’s Programs (P.M.S.) and Doctoral Programs (P.D.S.) with the Quality Policy of Democritus University of Thrace.
Specifically, the Master’s Program (M.A.) “MSC in Intercultural Pedagogical Approaches and Innovative Applications in Multicultural Educational Environments” is committed to implementing a quality policy that supports the academic character and orientation of the program, promotes its purpose and scope, implements its strategic objectives, determines the means and methods for achieving them, and aims for continuous improvement. It designs, modifies, and improves its curriculum with transparency and the participation of all stakeholders so that it:
• Meets contemporary scientific requirements and educational needs.
• Achieve the learning outcomes and qualifications as described in the course outlines of the Curriculum and offer qualifications in accordance with the European Higher Education Qualifications Framework.
• To promote scientific knowledge and research on intercultural pedagogical approaches and innovative applications in education.
- Implements quality procedures in teaching in full alignment with the quality policy of the Department and the Institution. Examples include:
• Selection of appropriate instructors in accordance with the provisions of relevant legislation.
• Evaluation of teaching by students on a semesterly basis.
• Participation in the internal evaluation process as coordinated by the Internal Quality Assurance Unit (MO.DI.P.) of the Democritus University of Thrace.
• Utilization of a variety of student-centered teaching processes and methods. - Ensures the quality (and quantity) of the research output of the academic unit’s members:
• By strengthening its outreach through collaborations both within the institution and with other institutions in Greece and abroad.
• Encouraging faculty participation in international and Greek conferences, research programs, and international collaborations.
• Supporting their international mobility.
• Seeking alternative sources of funding (participation in programs, grants, donations, etc.)
• Encouraging high-level research that will be published and recognized internationally - It ensures that teaching is linked to research.
- It monitors the employment rates of its graduates and provides students with career guidance that goes beyond the standard information.
- Based on its available resources (faculty and physical infrastructure), it ensures an appropriate annual enrollment to provide high-quality education to its students.
- It ensures quality at all levels of the curriculum’s operation and, at the same time, takes appropriate steps to improve it.
- It has posted the Quality Assurance Policy for the Study Program on its website and communicates it to all stakeholders through all available channels.
- It ensures that the Master’s Program website is kept up to date so that it remains a reliable source of information for students.
